Untold: Bible Stories Reimagined

Fun news! I published my first story! It was an honor to collaborate with a group of writers, including newbies and published authors, on an anthology project. An anthology is a group of short stories published in one book. The authors hail from multiple states and meet weekly through Christian Writers Sanctuary. We are, and I quote from the website, “a group of Christian authors, writers, marketers, and IT professionals who have a desire to see people publish the work God has laid on their heart. We love seeing God work in a way where people can realize their vision.” I’ve been blessed to be part of this community for nearly a year and have learned so much through our “Coffee and Chat” sessions, trainings and small group coaching. The encouragement and friendship extended have been an invaluable blessing to my writing journey.

The book, Untold: Biblical Stories Reimagined, is available on Amazon. This project provided a wonderful opportunity to critique, edit, and polish our stories as well as learn the many steps that go into the publication process. I love the imagination and creativity that each writer brought to the table as well as their unique insight into specific stories of the Bible.

My story details the journey of Hannah, Samuel's mother, found in 1 Samuel 1:2-2:21. I wanted to create a retelling that highlighted her great faith in God during a struggle that many face today: infertility. We've all been impacted by loved ones or friends who've had difficulty conceiving and bearing a child. We've seen how profound sorrow, disappointment, anger, and depression, steal joy from what a happy and exciting chapter in the life of a couple should be.

Throughout the years and the difficult circumstances presented in her marriage, Hannah remained the favorite of Elkanah. She was The Wife Favored. Enjoy the story. Share it with your friends.

I, too, found the experience very enlightening. The book shows such diversity and creative thought. I am so proud of our group and that we are able to share our work with so many others in this way. 🙂

It was so exciting to be a part of this incredible team and complete the anthology project together! I have ordered my copy of the book, and hope to have it Monday. I can't wait to see it in print! I loved your story, Stacy! It was beautifully done and showed the power of prayer in spite of infertility and scorn, and how God's love transformed the situation! Many blessings to you dear friend! Praying always for you and your family :)
